What prompted you to dive into taking up hospitality industry with Royal Tulip?

Golden Tulip Hotels and Resorts operates in India under three brands – Royal Tulip, Golden Tulip and Tulip Inn. The brand Royal Tulip resonates with luxurious, opulent properties offering full-fledged service to its customer in India.  For Royal Tulip Kufri, we identified potential markets while choosing our five-star and. Kufri as a destination is growing gradually for weekend getaways, corporate get together, adventurous trips and other rejuvenating experiences amidst nature. Another reason we launched Royal Tulip in Kufri is we are positioning this property suitable for ‘destination wedding’ in hills as it offers the largest pillar-less banquet space of 6500 sq.ft size in addition to a rooftop terrace that can accommodate approximate 10,000 people at a time.

Royal Tulip Kufri offers a myriad dining option ranging from specialty restaurant, Promenade- an all-day diner,  Cedar- a lounge and a bar, a separate reading room, temperature controlled swimming pool and a separate floor dedicated for recreational activities making it a perfect destination for travelers who are looking for luxury properties in the mystical Himalayas.

 

How do you see ‘travel’ running high on the priority list of Indian travellers?

Indian Hotel Industry is adapting to the requirement of millennials. Our properties are designed keeping in mind the requirement of young travellers travelling for business or leisure. At Royal Tulip Kufri, we have an entire floor Club Kufri dedicated only to recreational activities ranging from X-box, pool, air hockey and other such activities. One can also opt for a nature walk or bike ride up in hills. We have hotels ranging from five stars to three stars and we operate close to 25 properties across 19 cities under Golden Tulip Hotels and Resorts (parent company of Royal Tulip Kufri).

 

How do you plan to promote the brand Royal Tulip ahead?

We are adapting an integrated marketing campaign for Royal Tulip Kufri. Where we heavily invest in our sales and marketing team to network with potential business partners who can help us grow the brand in the respective target market. We also undertake the traditional communication campaign along partnering with potential key influencers in lifestyle and hospitality media to create our visibility. Additionally, we are also working with social media agencies to actively promote our brand offerings, packages and run digital campaigns on our digital platforms to promote Royal Tulip Kufri as the destination for leisure, adventure and destination weddings. Our associations with OTA’s also help us reach out to a larger customer base and promote our brands to the targeted audience.

 

Social media plays a very important role today. What do you think about digital travellers? 

Digital travellers are the key influencers in today’s time. They are the one who creates trends. The digital influencers think out of the box and are ready to explore the new experiences and work for them.

THE TERRACE

Over the next 5 years what will be the outperforming vs underperforming markets?

We see a strong potential in Tier II  and Tier III smart cities. A lot of international hospitality brands are expanding to smaller towns which are a tourist destination but lack the international chain of hotels. The customers in these market are now travellers and have experienced great hospitality, impeccable service, high-quality standard at the competitive price.
